Samantha Halling

4-Year College or University Scholarship

Samantha has been accepted into the University of Maryland’s, Honors College, for the Fall 2023 semester. She will be Majoring in Biological Sciences. During her four years at Gaithersburg High School (GHS), she was a member of the GHS Varsity Swim Team and was the Team Captain for the 2022-2023 season. She is a member of the National Honor Society and was Co-President of the Science National Honor Society. During her time at GHS Samantha was also a member of the Project Lead the Way Program (PLTW)beginning in 2019. As a member of PLTW Samantha participated in various scientific research and experiments and in her senior year she began working on a year-long innovations capstone project.

Not only is Samantha very intelligent and hardworking, but she is also such a kind and thoughtful young woman. We are all very excited for Samantha as she begins her next chapter in life, and we look forward to watching her excel in her chosen field.

Montgomery College Scholarship

Congratulations to Hector for receiving this year’s KBF Montgomery College Scholarship. Hector applied to and was accepted into the Achieving Collegiate Excellence & Success (ACES) program while attending GHS. His strong interest in computer science and programming led him to pursue IT classes at Montgomery College. While attending high school, Hector volunteered his time and talents in our community. He helped to create a banner for the police department, he volunteered to write letters for the elderly and helped pick up trash in the local parks and neighborhoods.

We wish Hector all the best as he begins his first year at Montgomery College. He is a very bright and determined person and we are confident that he will achieve his goal of working and making a difference in the technology field.
