Angel S. Ashford

4-Year College or University Scholarship

This year, the four-year scholarship award was presented to Angel S. Ashford, who will be attending Morgan State University in the Fall of 2024. Throughout high school, Angel was an active member of the National Art Honor Society for all four years and the Spanish Honor Society during her senior year.

Angel plans to pursue a degree in Architecture, driven by a passion for transforming how we build homes and communities. She is committed to designing homes that are not only functional but also accessible and affordable to all.

We are proud to support Angel on her journey and look forward to seeing the innovative designs she will create. The world needs more visionaries like Angel—individuals dedicated to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to live in safe and affordable housing.

Jonathan Moorman

Montgomery College Scholarship

The Montgomery College scholarship award was presented to Jonathan Moorman this year. Jonathan is an Honor Roll student who excels in several Advanced Placement courses. A lifelong athlete, he served as the Captain of the Gaithersburg High School football team during his senior year. Jonathan was also actively involved in the Model United Nations Conference, where he drafted legislation and policy proposals addressing international development and public health issues in Ethiopia.

Jonathan plans to pursue a degree in a field that will enable him to achieve his goal of conducting research in genetics or human biology. His interest in this area began at a young age after meeting someone with cystic fibrosis. Driven by a deep desire to help others, Jonathan hopes to make meaningful contributions to scientific research and improve lives through his work.
